AXE FOOTY!
We’ve seen many campaigns for the Euro 2012 soccer tournament. But midst all the marketing clutter than we go through on a daily basis, we always look for that campaign that goes the extra mile to really show off a brand’s qualities and creativity.
Well that brand is AXE, famous for their daring campaigns, AXE Middle east in collaboration with their agency Digital Republic have created their own online footy tournament to concide with the European Championships; but instead of asking their fans to guess the score, they asked them to vote for which country has hotter women!
What does that have to do with soccer? Nothing! And that is what makes it beautiful and daring.
Launched on the AXE Middle East fanpage on Facebook, the posts were a huge hit in Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE. And due to its popularity we hear other AXE global fanpages such as South Africa, China, and Thailand took notice and decided to emulate the idea in future international football tournaments.
Last Thursday, AXE Footy made an addition to the campaign by launching 2 videos on Youtube under the subtitle of “Hot girls, silly questions” where they feature a girl on each asking a silly question about football and now you get to vote who should ask the next one, so check them out here and answer the questions and vote and maybe you in for a surprise. Check out the videos below
Tonight is the final match for the EURO so go on down to the AXE Middle East Page and do your thing.
WE SAID THIS: We love it when local marketing strategies are recognized globally. Great JobAXE & Digital Republic.
