If you know what the Internet is, chances are you also know Getty Images. It’s the mother of all stock image agencies. It had one tiny flaw though, it doesn’t cater to Arabs. Which is where Meashots .com comes into place. What’s that, you say? It’s Getty Images’ Middle Eastern counterpart. We hunted down the masterminds behind this ingenious idea to know more about their baby.

Omar Abozeid who is a TV commercials executive producer, and his brother Karim Abouzeid who is a director, noticed a very big gap in the market when it comes to finding authentic Middle Eastern or African stock images, so they’ve decided to do something about it. After conducting much research and attending countless stock image expos, the Abouzeid brothers finally launched Meashots.com.

The Abouzeids aim to take over the Iron Throne of stock in The Middle East. “Our mission is to make Meashots the hub for stock imagery in the region,” they tell us. Meashots.com is set to revolutionize the way creative and media professionals, organizations and corporate companies purchase stock photos. Their vision is to “introduce new photographers and buyers to the business,” they explain. “Many companies are not aware that they can easily buy stock images instead of investing so much on a photo shoot that turns out to be mediocre. As for photographers, lots of them don’t know that they can also sell their images online.”

The brothers want to educate photographers on how to properly protect their images online, “your images are worth a lot more than a few hundred likes. Many photographers and videographers have their work stolen online, we will put an end to that with Meashots. Every single stock image automatically has our watermark on it, which means they can only share it via Meashots, making it 100% protected.” They also told us that their “massive library grows day by day and their numbers are increasing in thousands.”
