“Yeah, just change it up a bit so it doesn’t look obvious that you copied from me”

Synergy just released the promo for Yasmine Abdel-Aziz’s new TV series for Ramadan with the title “Harbana Menha” (which translates to an Egyptian idiom that means a mentally-disturbed person). The poster suggests that the protagonist has several different personalities, much like James McAvoy’s character in Split.

The poster also suggests that the designer of the poster spent little time brainstorming before creating it; as the poster looks 100% like M. Night Shyamalan‘s movie; with both protagonists standing next to their many personalities.

If I learned one thing from studying in my university, it was that plagiarism is not okay, and there’s consequences for it. Social media users have been sharing the similarities like wildfire, with comments showing peoples’ discontent with the copy-paste method.

I personally don’t know how the exposed designer did not think that he’ll eventually get caught, as the movie Split actually did pretty good in Egyptian cinemas; unless, of course, this is some kind of a mysterious marketing plan to get people to talk about the series.

WE SAID THIS: We’re hoping to see Yasmine Abdel-Aziz co-star in the sequel of Split.
