In a new minor (yet really important) victory for women empowerment in the Saudi Kingdom, women are now allowed by law to work in pharmacies, herbal medicine stores and optical shops.

According to Aisha Atto, former member of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, more females graduate the King Saud University with a degree in ophthalmology than men. Moreover, around 13,000 Saudi women are completely qualified to work in optical shops. So that decision paved the way for a good deal of workforce, let alone its positive impact on females’ situation in the Kingdom.

WE SAID THIS: Congratulations to the women of Saudi Arabia.
