Who is DJ Nitrane?

Everyone is a DJ now, right?

So you listen to couple of songs that were hits and you mix them together and play them somewhere, you become a DJ. How awesome! (straight face). But let’s not forget the real talents out there that succeeded to make unique impressions. Amir Nitrane, who has been sneaking around the Egypt scene for sometime, seems like he knows what he’s doing.

Out of all places, Amir started DJing in Saudi Arabia where he used to live. He then came back to Egypt in 1998 and started in Alexandria. Let’s have a look at how this journey carried on…

1)  Where might we have seen you before?

Jazz Club, Laytex before it closed, Sinai and Sharm, Purple, Club 35, and lastly Nacelle

2) What’s your musical background?

My parents like listening to Disco and I like happy bounce music basically.

3) Did you do any studies related to Djing and music technology?

Officially, no.

4) Whose your favorite DJ of all time?

I look up to some from a technical perspective like Ritchie Hawtin for example, he’s like the God father of techno. I look up to others according to their choice of music like David Morales.

5) What’s coming up next with you? Any big plans for the summer?

There’s something coming up at Jazz club, next month. About summer plans, 1984 will figure this out for me!

We said this: Good music is music that has a strong basic!
