Wahdan – Entertainment’s Leading Man

0

A main who have never failed to impress us, someone who has been behind many successful entertainment venues has been in hiding in Sokhna for quite some time, attributing “what’s been happening in Egypt isn’t very promising’ said Ahmed Wahdan.

But lucky for us a week ago he decided to come back to Egypt, believing that it is wrong to leave the country to the Ekhwan which he refers to as being “weak and hopefully be easy to topple.”

To be honest, I was a little bit anxious while interviewing him but I have to say I was amazed by this his humbleness and friendly spirit! Wahdan told us all about his past experiences with Sky Bar and Tabla and what’s more exciting was finding out what he has planned for us this Eid.

Tell us a little bit about your journey starting with Sky Bar and Tabla Sokhna

Well, Sky Bar was a complete coincidence, Yassin Mansour, the Chairman of Palm Hills suggested we do something in Hacienda Bay and he put all his money on me. Without him, Sky Bar would have never happened, not to mention his huge financial support. The idea was based on th fact that people love clubbing in Beirut, while in Egypt we do have the perfect locations but unfortunately bad service, so I thought why not get Beirut to Egypt with the proper service and team behind it.

As for Tabla Sokhna, it was also never planned, I decided to buy a house in Sokhna that I never saw except the day I moved and decided to live there. At the same time, owners of Ein Bay called me and asked to take a venue, then Tabla happened. We were very concerned by the service, the quality of the kitchen and the entertainment offered. The day some Lebanese people called me to reserve for their friends, that’s I knew Tabla was a success.

Tell us about the new venue in Sahel.

Tabla Sahel was brought in by Emaar after the “fight” (That’s what wahdan calls the revolution as he doesn’t believe that what happened in Egypt was a revolution) as we signed the venue for three years. The place takes about 600-700 people and we’re making sure to prepare entertainment that won’t be found elsewhere.

You never seize to amaze us, what should we expect this Eid?

Well, for starters we are bringing entertainment and performers from Miami, Italy and Beirut and we are going to have a night under the name of “Lala land”. Expect a lot from us this Eid. Also DJ Samba is going to perform as well as DJ Tony, our resident DJ in Tabla Sokhna’s.

How long will you stay open? Dates? How do we reserve?

We will open starting 19th of August and our closing night will be the 30th of August. Our reservation line will start operating this Sunday and that’s the number you are welcome to call: 01220555550

We are hearing allot of buzz throughout the year about Dubai, anything we should know?

Dubai is not as hard as people think, I decided to start Tabla and Tabla Café there. I still haven’t decided which venue though but this will be announced in September.

Back to Eid, does this mean Table Sokhna will still be working throughout Eid?

Yes, we are operating both Tablas in Eid.

WE SAID THIS: TABLA IS GOING TO BE BLAZING HOT THIS EID! GET YOURSELVES READY FOR SOME FUN!
