Viral Visual: Faces from the ‘Friendzone’

We love supporting local talent, and RashRadio‘s latest music video is a great example. Shot, directed and produced by Ashraf Hamdi with cinematography support from Zaatar, the song was also produced and composed by Neobyrd.

“The singer, RashRadio, came to me to direct and produce his new song, so I helmed the project because the producer/composer Neobyrd is my friend and we worked together before on projects like the Dubizzle campaign,” Hamdi told us. “We used the studio of photographer Zaatar and he added his ‘catch lights’ to the eyes.”

And appearing in the video are a number of familiar faces, including Karim Gamroor from Grey Grass, with makeup by Mai Ayman.

“It’s a universal theme… to be ‘friendzoned’ so that’s why we chose to have diversity in looks and keep it as real as possible with how people looked in the video,” Hamdi explained. “The concept in the beginning was just portraits and people lip syncing, but I decided to get closer and shoot more close-ups of features to make it more intimate and personal.”
