The Sunchild

The minute you surf the internet or watch TV, you cannot escape passing by the depressing plague that has engulfed the country. You feel sick, you feel helpless and you feel just, well… plain depressed.

I always strive to be one of those people who take advantage of the situation, look at the bright side and get inspired to create something that reflects my deep thoughts.

Dalia Ali is one of these people, she’s an Egyptian filmmaker currently based in Los Angeles. She worked in major Post-Houses in Cairo since 2008 and did a short movie before called “Duality”. Dalia is currently working on a new project called “Sunchild”.

Sunchild is a soon to be born movie that is inspired by our Egyptian revolution and will be shot in LA by Dalia along with an international crew. The movie sends a message of unity and breaks isolation that is presented in the movie through Adam, an autistic child.

Adam’s reactions are different as his state does not help him express how he feels like other people. Seeing one of the most famous revolutionary incidents of Egypt’s protests, the girl who was stripped to her bra by the army, Adam’s world is turned upside down.

Through the movie we are taken into Adam’s world as he seeks to find truth in his own way. We wonder if the Egyptian revolution could actually effect Americans or anyone else in the world as it gets too personal into Adam’s life.

Now Dalia and the crew need to raise $ 5000 so they can shoot the movie and afford its expenses. Know more about the movie, how to help, maybe even donate and how impressive these people are by visiting this link:
