Saudi Arabia has announced that it’s going to let go of the administrations of 2000 governmental schools and give them the independence to handle their administrative and financial matters.

“This would help improve the performance of educational process in schools through administrative and financial powers,” said Ahmad Abdullah Qaran, director general of awareness initiatives and director of independent schools at the Ministry of Education. “These powers would help schools to take suitable decisions with regard to educational activities, improve their quality and their products,” Qaran added.

These schools will still maintain the free education facility but it will at the same time spare the government the financial burden it used to carry before. It will act as an advantage to both parties in terms of managerial independence on the schools’ part and reduction of expenditure on education on the government’s part.
