For the Record: Raise Your Glass to Psy and Snoop

  • This month marks a milestone for Korean artist Psy – his hit song “Gangnam Style”, already the most viewed video on Youtube, has officially reached 2 billion views. I can only assume he celebrated by drinking a whole lot, based on his brand new song with Snoop Dogg. A sophisticated song it is not, but they have such great chemistry it’s easy to imagine a buddy cop movie somewhere in their future. Check out “Hangover” here:

  • OneRepublic‘s comeback is obviously working; they’ve followed up last year’s amazing single “Counting Stars” with this one titled “Love Runs Out”, which has them being compared to bands from Imagine Dragons to Empire of the Sun. This one’s on the radio all the time, but you can check out the video here:

  • Nicki Minaj‘s new one “Pills N Potions” is definitely a winner and the video is fittingly half beautiful, half trippy, hold the ads:

  • Eric Prydz is a name we haven’t heard in a while. He’s back with new one “Liberate”, which isn’t exactly earth-shattering, but will fit right into your summer playlist:

  • 50 Cent is all over the headlines promoting his new album Animal Ambition – first there was the infamous first pitch at a Mets game, then his new TV series Power and G-Unit comeback, and this week he’s dropped the title track and played along with Jimmy Kimmel to create new Disney villian MaleFiftyCent:

  • I’ve never heard of Lydia Ainsworth, but this song – haunting vocals, great strings, beautiful video – is a work of art, so I hope she sticks around:

  • And Weezer have announced their upcoming album Everything Will Be Alright in the End in a short and vague video teaser that promises lots of dirty guitars (I hope):

WE SAID THIS: Cheers!
