Lost in Florence: Wine Town 2012

0

I’ve been having a hard week walking to and from the academy every day, cleaning, cooking, a homeless man attacking me in the street. You know, the usual.

I needed to reward myself with something special and maybe meet new people since my social life needs a hug right now.

Now, knowing that Florence is the city of Art is one thing, and finding out that it’s also the city of great wine is a WHOLE other thing. Apparently, there’s a famous event called Wine Town where all the historical buildings open for 2 days so people can enter and taste the best wines in Italy, specifically Tuscany. Get this it’s not only about the wine, there’s also chocolate tasting, live music, dancing, and great food by the greatest chefs in Italy.

It all seemed so surreal at first, I had to find out if it’s AS glamorous as I heard and thought it to be, and believe it or not, it was even better than what my imagination could of spurred up. People from all over Italy were walking the streets with wine glasses in their hands, random people would swap glasses with me to try different wines, and at some point I kept talking to a bunch of people in German. (Who would of thought i could speak fluent German – Thank you Italian wine!)

The event ended at 11 PM, but my night didn’t. I got to know a bunch of people that I’ll probably never see again (the beauty of living abroad) and went with them to a park to continue our eating, drinking, singing and dancing.

Everything was perfectly fine until some old person called the police because we were making too much noise, that’s when I disappeared and ran back home.

The end.
