On March 25th, 2016 which commemorated the 70th Anniversary of Jordan’s Independence Day, the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) broke the Guinness World Record for the largest mosaic painting of cakes.

With the help of 150 culinary experts including faculty, students and staff. RACA was able to assemble a 187-square-meter cake that was comprised of 18,756 cakes. The cake produced the outline of the country that was colored in with the Jordanian flag.

The cake was accepted as a challenge from the academy as a challenge from King Abdullah to prove to the region and the world of Jordan’s creativity and capabilities. Following last year’s record of the world’s largest origami mosaic created by students around country in the shape of the Jordanian flag, the Hashemite Kingdom broke another world record with the cake made possible with the help of sponsors including Nestle Professional and Kitchen Aid and was distributed to charity organizations in Amman,  Tkiyet Um Ali, and the authorities of Amman.
