iPhone 5: Finally Here to Stay!

0

It’s here! Finally everyone in the world can calm down now. Being the most anticipated device EVER has personally driven me insane. I don’t see what the big fuss is really, but that’s a totally different discussion. I’m going to tell you what Apple has finally decided to grace the world with. We’ve been hearing rumors about the iPhone since way before the 4s was released, we saw a million concept videos and rest assured, none of them came to life!

No. There is no see-through display or hologram games. No disappearing gimmicks, or screen sharing on your table, none of that! Yes, it is still the thinnest, lightest, fastest and most powerful phone that Apple has ever made.

So here are the new features in a quick list form without Tim Cook’s sauve moves on the keynote stage: –

1) New Design: 18% thinner and 20% lighter, made of glass and aluminium, available in black, silver and white

2) Display Screen: 4-Inch Display (longer, same width), 44% more colour saturation, touch screen sensor integrated into new display.

3) Connectivity: LTE compatability allowing downloads of 100 megabits/second, higher performing WiFi

4) Processing: 2x faster processing speed and graphics (A6 Chip)

5) Camera: 8 megapixel sensor, backside illumination, f/24 aperture + Camera is 25% smaller + 1080p HD video capability + New mode for taking photos in low light + Sapphire crystal lens cover to better protect the lens + New panorama photo feature

6) Audio: Three microphones instead of two, 20% smaller speakers + Redesigned headphones called EarPods (picture below)

7) Connectors: New iPhone cord connector – called ‘Lightning’ – more durable

8) Operating System: iOS 6

9) Siri: Enhanced

10) Battery life:  8 hours via LTE or 3G, 10 hours over WiFi

My biggest problem with smartphones in general is that they keep adding great features, but for these features to work, you need more power, hence taking away all the advancements of the increased battery life. It kind of makes me miss the good old days of the Nokia 6110, imagine that battery life on smart phones, we’d all be happy human beings. I have yet to see a smartphone that would last for 2 days on the same battery charge.

So there you have it, the new iPhone! Let’s just hope that we dont start anticipating what’s going to be on the iPhone 6 or 5s for that matter.

WE SAID THIS: Happy New iPhone!
