Has anyone ever told you that you can’t do something? And that “something” is out of your league and will forever be impossible to accomplish? We’ve all been down there, but sometimes, it won’t matter how many motivational quotes you’ll read on Instagram, you just won’t know how to get back up again. Well, allow me to introduce Ibrahim Hamato, the very man who helped me do just that!

Hamato is an Egyptian amputee table tennis player who lost both his arms in a train accident when he was only 10-years old. Nevertheless, he found something he loved and he pursued it. Although he holds the bat with his mouth, it didn’t stop him from being the best of the best.

In 2014, the International Table Tennis Federation invited him to the World Champion in Tokyo to compete against the world’s top players. Hamato is also a two-time African Championship silver medalist and he is set to be part of the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
