Humans of New York Defends Muslims and Refugees in Open Letter to Trump

We carry immense respect for Humans of New York, the wildly popular blog run by passionate journalist Brandon Stanton that features moving stories of everyday New Yorkers and beyond.

Today, that respect has deepened with Stanton’s open letter to Donald Trump in which he slams the vitriolic U.S. presidential candidate for his racist and Islamophobic public remarks.

“I’ve come to realize that opposing you is no longer a politican decision. It is a moral one,” he wrote to Trump on Facebook, sharing his thoughts with his 17 million followers.

“Over the last two years, I have conducted extensive interviews with hundreds of Muslims, chosen at random, on the streets of Iran, Iraq and Pakistan. I’ve also interviewed hundreds of Syrian and Iraqi refugees across seven different continents. And I can confirm — the hateful one is you.”
