Goodbye, Summer!

With the time changing (for the hundredth time!) and the days getting shorter, it’s time to bid our beloved summer farewell. But hey, the best thing about living in Egypt is that we know it won’t be long before we have it back again!

Looking back at the season that has just left us, we realized there are a few things we need to say goodbye to before we embrace the fall.

Say goodbye to the draining heat of the sun

No more sun stroke, burns or the need to sleep an entire day after being drained by the sun’s deadly heat.

Say goodbye to the countless summer events

Although it feels like wedding season is fixed all year round, summer definitely takes the lead. No more hustling between five events a day and spending a fortune on the right outfit!

Say goodbye to humidity

If there’s one thing we won’t miss, it’s what the humidity did to our hair. No matter how many bottles of hair spray we used, we always ended up having a lion’s mane. Say goodbye to bad hair days! (Hopefully)

Say goodbye to staying out until sunrise in Sahel

Why it’s okay to stay out that late in Sahel is something we’ll never understand, but don’t even want to try! Unfortunately, back to the city life means the curfews are back in order and late nights only mean watching a movie in bed.

Say goodbye to summer flings

Sitting on the beach or taking long walks in the moonlight makes a romance evolve out of nowhere. With summer leaving us, somehow those emotions that felt so real disappear along with it and we face the reality that we need to say goodbye to those summer romances.

Say goodbye to the beach, awesome tan and long summer drives

With summer coming to an end, it’s time to say goodbye to chilling on the beach, perfecting the bronze skintone (get ready for the peeling to start!) and spending all those hours on the way to and from the coast.

Say goodbye to the bright colours

Whether it’s nature’s beauty bringing colour to our lives or just summery, colourful outfits, those bright colours somehow make you feel cheerful (except for the abuse of neon!). We’ll definitely miss that bright feeling.

Say goodbye to the stinky smell of sweat

sweat

Have you been to any governmental building or crowded places this summer? Avoid it at all costs because you’ll probably faint from the stinky smell of sweat all around you. Apparently, some people have never heard of deodrant. Thank God that’ll be over soon!

Say goodbye to the exhaustion

From running around from event to event to spending your weekends at the beach, there is barely any time to relax in the summer. With summer coming to an end, we can finally just sit back and do absolutely nothing on our weekends. No more exhaustion.

Say goodbye to summer

It’s time we bid you farewell and even though it has been exhausting, it’s always totally worth it! Here’s to the best of times, the happy memories and the general cheerful mood everyone is in. So long summer, we’ll be eagerly waiting for you to light up our world again soon.
