How to Do Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on a Budget

Abu Dhabi Hill

The #AbuDhabiGP  is finally just around the corner with it being one of the most coveted events a year, I can’t help but get excited. But like every coveted event it usually comes with a hefty price tag that only the Middle East and the world’s biggest spenders are willing to dish out.

I’m here to eradicate that image from your mind and break down for you how you too can attend the F1 without breaking the bank.

Tickets

No you don’t need to spend a 1000 plus dollars to watch the world’s fastest cars and best racers zip around the track. Hit up the Hill section, for seats that resemble one of the best picnic atmospheres out there and one of the best views of the track, yes the best views because you see the F1 cars shoot post before you at the speed of 316 KM/H. That’s super-fast!

Costing a mere $90 for three days; that means your only spending around $30 a day and getting access to the concerts + Ferrari World  and Yas Waterworld! That’s pretty much dinner at any of your favorite restaurants. Click here to book your tickets.

Accommodation

Via Hotels

You don’t have to be staying on Yas Island to attend the races. You really, really don’t! I know that the Yas Hotels fill up quite early on, but how about setting up camp in any of the nearby Abu Dhabi hotels, with prices ranging from $500 on wards. Yup, that’s actually possible.

We’ve already done the hard part of the research for you.. If you go on Booking.com right now you can score a double room at the Rotana Abu Dhabi for as little as $912 for the race weekend. Or another option? Well you can stay at the Centro Capital for $545. These hotels both offer premium comfort at a low cost so you won’t hurt your wallet too much. They are extremely close to the circuit, only 25 minutes, so getting in and out of the Yas Island would not be a problem.

To make your stay even better, get in some sightseeing after the races! Sheikh Zayed mosque is a site to see, reveling in it’s beauty will definitely be a highlight.

Emirates Palace. Just WOW. Such a spectacular place, definitely worth the visit to take a selfie or two.

Take a stroll down the Abu Dhabi’s Corniche, where the tall towers will light up the night and create the perfect setting for the Beats on the Beach concerts by #Yasalam2016.

Dubai, it’s only 45 minutes away. You could jump on a taxi and visit the iconic Burj Khalifa and the other attractions the town has to offer.

Eat

Avoid fancy restaurants as they aren’t your destination this time around, but how about you hit up the circuit’s oasis areas to munch on food from around the world, BBQ, Mexican and Italian are some to mention. There will be some good treats if you have sweet tooth or want to cool down with an ice cream! Eating on a budget has never been more appetizing, let alone you can also get a beer to go as well!

Party

You can still party in style at the likes of Iris, VIP Club, but ditch the tables and get yourself a bar reservation.  This way you get to see all the international guest appearances and performances without your wallet taking a hit. Did we mention the big concerts with an amazing line-up? Head over to the after-race concerts and grab your drinks as soon as the gates open, because we sure definitely going to be dancing and singing along all night!

WE SAID THIS: If you don’t reside in the UAE and you’re looking to catch a flight to not miss this fantastic weekend. Well, flights start as low as 300$. All in, flight + accommodation + tickets can cost you 1000$ tops with our above recommendations. Tickets are probably selling like hot cakes, so don’t sleep on it and grant your access to the #AbuDhabiGP race weekend by clicking here.  You’re absolutely welcome.
