Egyptians Defy Logic and Literally Play with a Shark in Sharm El-Sheikh

This must be one of Egypt’s finest WTH moments and I genuinely feel like our beloved country is coming to an end. For a while now, there has been news circulating about people trying to play with sharks – yes you read that right – in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Misr dot com just posted a video of snorkelers acting all friendly with an oceanic whitetip shark and we can’t even begin to comprehend how this happened. The Minister of Environment, Khaled Fahmy, recently confirmed the presence of a shark in Ras Nosrani Bay and repeatedly warned everyone of approaching any of the sharks without taking any safety measures in consideration. Fahmy condemned the reckless behavior of swimmers trying to ride the shark’s back.

We can’t even believe that our people need an official statement to realize that this is completely idiotic. Any one of them could have lost a limb in a second, this is 101 animal abuse. Don’t ride the shark’s back? Seriously! Who would have thought we’d live to hear such words, but again it’s Egypt.

WE SAID THIS: That was not a good day to be a shark.
