Egyptian Dina Powell Joins Donald Trump’s Administration

The world is has been watching really closely and carefully, trying to know who will be joining Trump’s team, and Dina Powell is making headlines this week. According to New York Times, Powell will be joining Trump’s administration. The Goldman Sachs investment banking partner is reportedly working closely with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner and will soon become an extremely influential adviser in the White House.

So who is this Egyptian with deep ties to both Republicans and Democrats in Washington? The 42-year-old president of the Goldman Sachs Foundation has been known for her work on the company’s philanthropic efforts, leading the the bank’s “10,000 Women” initiative supporting women entrepreneurs around the world. Powell Is the Fourth Goldman Sachs Alum to Join the Trump Administration.

 

 

Egyptian-born, Dallas-raised and fluent Arabic speaker left Egypt at the age of four. “They were so young, and they left everything behind,” Powell told the Washington Post. “They threw me into school, and I remember being so sad that nobody understood me.” According to CNN, Powell was considered the youngest ever assistant to the president for presidential personnel, after she became chief of the personnel office in the Bush White House at 29.  The Washington Post named her “the president’s headhunter” in 2005.
