The World Economic Forum (WEF) has just released its 2015 Travel and Tourism Competitiveness report, which ranks 141 countries from most affordable to most expensive.

Egypt, whose tourism sector plummeted following the 2011 Jan. 25 revolution, came in at number two on the list.

The report is based on a number of factors, including average prices for flights, hotel rooms, fuel, the country’s cost of living and purchasing power parity (PPP).

According to the WEF’s calculations, the top 10 most affordable countries to travel to are Iran, Egypt, Indonesia, Yemen, Gambia, Malaysia, Tunisia, India, Pakistan and Algeria.

WE SAID THIS: Let’s hope this encourages more tourism in Egypt! Don’t miss Hurghada Named TripAdvisor’s 2014 Destination on the Rise.
