The Egyptian government announced on Tuesday that a company from the private sector has already been hired for EGP 5 million a year to take responsibility for the cleanliness of the Pyramids area. This announcement came in a meeting between Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and officials from the Ministry of Housing, Tourism and Antiquities.

Two other companies from the private sector are yet to be hired for taking care of the security and management of the area. The government has also announced its will to deploy more tourism police officers in the area to maintain security, as well as work with the the Ministry of Interior to build a police station and a hospital in the neighborhood. We’re very excited to see how the fruit of this cooperation turns out, as Egypt really needs it.

WE SAID THIS: We really, really hope this helps boosting Egypt’s tourism.
