Eargasm: 8 Florence + The Machine Songs To Power Your Run

There’s nothing like good music to power your workout. I personally listen to these songs while running and they work great, especially with their encouraging lyrics.

1. “Drumming Song”

I ran to a tower where the church bells chime
I hoped that they would clear my mind
They left a ringing in my ear
But that drum’s still beating loud and clear

Louder than sirens
Louder than bells
Sweeter than heaven
And hotter than hell

2. “All This And Heaven Too”

And I would give all this and heaven too
I would give it all if only for a moment
That I could just understand the meaning of the word you see
‘Cause I’ve been scrawling it forever but it never makes sense to me at all

3. “Shake It Out”

And I am done with my graceless heart
So tonight I’m gonna cut it out and then restart
‘Cause I like to keep my issues drawn
It’s always darkest before the dawn

Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa

4. “Only If For A Night”

And the only solution was to stand and fight
And my body was bruised and I was set alight
But you came over me like some holy rite
And although I was burning, you’re the only light
Only if for a night

5. “Never Let Me Go”

Though the pressure’s hard to take
It’s the only way I can escape
It seems a heavy choice to make
And now I am under all

And it’s breaking over me
A thousand miles down to the sea bed
Found the place to rest my head
Never let me go
Never let me go

6. “Dog Days Are Over”

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run

Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers

7. “Delilah”

It’s a different kind of danger
And my feet are spinning around
Never knew I was a dancer
‘Till Delilah showed me how

Too fast for freedom
Sometimes it all falls down
These chains never leave me
I keep dragging them around

8. “Breaking Down”

Oh, I think I’m breaking down again
Oh, I think I’m breaking down

All alone
On the edge of sleep
My old familiar friend
Comes and lies down next to me
