Dubai Airport Breaks A New World Record

Dubai International Airport has just announced its 2014 numbers, reporting a whopping 70.4 million passengers who transited through its vast international terminals last year.

This officially makes DXB the busiest international airport in the world, overtaking London’s Heathrow, which reported 68.1 million international passengers in 2014.

Meanwhile, Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central) reported moving more than 2.4 million tonnes of cargo in 2014, making it third in the world for cargo traffic after South Korea and Hong Kong.

By 2020, Dubai aims to service 100 million passengers annually while DWC aims to transport 4 million tonnes of cargo traffic per year.
