Don’t Be Surprised the Next Time You Get Carded While Clubbing in UAE
In the UAE, people are very used walking into clubs and bars without ever worrying that someone is going to ask them to show their ID. Being carded is just not a thing!
It’s a far cry from the West where everyone has be McLovin’ from Superbad. But now, the UAE may be getting stricter about party-goers providing identification, and and the new initiative is going to effect anyone who appears to be under the age of 30.
“We have been told to check IDs for a long time but now it is more strict,” said Salman Ahmed, Manager of Porters in the Grand Millennium Al Wahda. “The authorities have instructed us to check everyone.”
Establishments can face up to AED40,000 if they ever get caught serving alcohol to underage people.
It was also announced that photocopies will no longer be valid; only IDs, drivers licenses, or passports will be acceptable.
