DIY: Natural Room Scents

coverdiy

Let’s admit it, those air fresheners you buy at the supermarket smell like crap. Whether it’s lavender or roses, they still have an after smell that sometimes – well, most times – make you want to puke.

But you still buy them because you never know when you might have someone coming over or when your bathroom pipe decides to explode.

There is a simple, all-natural, truly lovely solution for all of this. It’ll make your home smell bright and cozy using all natural ingredients.

The advantage in this is that you actually get to customize your air freshener.

Here are some suggestions for scent combinations:

1. Oranges, cinnamon and cloves (allspice and anise are also options here). This is an all-time favorite because you can reheat it and it can scent your rooms for several days.

2.     Lemon, rosemary and vanilla. This adds nothing but freshness to your home.

3.     Lime, thyme, mint and vanilla extract. You can almost smell the beauty just by reading it, right?

4.     Orange, ginger (fresh or powdered) and almond extract. Delicious!

5.     Pine or cedar twigs, bay leaves and nutmeg. This combination will give your home that complex aroma that you’re looking for.
