Beirut & Beyond International Music Festival Is How You Deserve to End 2017
by Nadine Arab
In partnership with the Grand Factory, Beirut and Beyond International Music Festival is returning with its fifth edition next month. The 4-day festival, curated by the one and only Egyptian musician and composer, Maurice Louca, will be running from the 7th until the 10th of December. Hence, a guaranteed lively musical experience that you shouldn’t be missing.
BBIMF’17 is coming back with an exceptional lineup this year, featuring Dina El Wedidi, Susanna, Kid Fourteen and other artists from all over the world. The opening concert includes a very special performance by Lebanese singer, Yasmine Hamdan. This event will be part of Hamdan’s Al Jamilat world tour. Not to mention that you will be able to enjoy up to three gigs per day.
Founded in 2013, BBIMF is a result of a partnership with Oslo World Music Festival that happens to be the first independent annual showcase festival of its kind. It aims to empower and promote the Arab region’s independent music industry with emphasis on strong artistic merit. The festival directed by co-founder, Amani Semaan, also aims to serve the independent artists in every way possible.
This includes facilitating the process of networking, responding to the artists’ needs and providing them with a platform for exchange and exposure. By reshaping the music scene, BBIMF becomes a game-changer that is actually way more beyond just a regular music festival.
