Mommy Diaries: Happy Kids Make the Best Kids

Mommy Diaries: Happy Kids Make the Best Kids

I found out that I was pregnant with L Boogie at the super young age of 24. I had just finished my masters, I was pretty fit, and it was technically the prime of my life. It was sooner than I would’ve liked but Superdad and I were overwhelmed with an equal amount of joy […]

Mommy Diaries: A Mother’s Day Rant

Mommy Diaries: A Mother’s Day Rant

I don’t understand people who are offended by others’ celebration of Mother’s Day. Why someone would take offense at someone else’s declaration of love is beyond me. Mother’s Day is a celebration of the strong women in your life who have supported you throughout your journey. Whether or not you’ve literally birthed children, you have empowered someone […]

Mommy Diaries: The Problem with Private Schools in Egypt

Mommy Diaries: The Problem with Private Schools in Egypt

I’ve got to admit that we’ve been lucky when it comes to our kids’ behavior at school. The worse complaint I’ve received so far is that Z Money won’t sing on demand or that L Boogie’s perfectionism sometimes takes more time than it should. And I am so totally okay with that. Kids don’t […]

Mommy Diaries: Power to the Mamas

Mommy Diaries: Power to the Mamas

My kids have been on their Spring Break all week. It’s been fun, but there is a trend I’ve picked up on that’s really beginning to piss me off. I’m pregnant. I’m very pregnant. I’m as pregnant as can be pregnant. So for me, I would always rather be sitting on the couch than […]

Mommy Diaries: Stop Raising Jerks

Mommy Diaries: Stop Raising Jerks

We all know that person. That person who we try to avoid making eye contact with so we don’t get sucked into listening to one of their never-ending monologues. That person we do our bestest not to be cornered by. That person we dread talking to more than we dread root canals. They may be the […]

Mommy Diaries: Kids Need to Know That You’re Not Full of Sh*t

Mommy Diaries: Kids Need to Know That You’re Not Full of Sh*t

My eldest monster L Boogie just turned six. SIX. What does this mean? Well, besides the fact that I feel old, it means that she now can remember everything that’s happening. I can’t sing and dance the memory of how I forgot it was crazy sock day at school away. This will be the story […]

Mommy Diaries: The Battle of the Sexes, Simplified

Mommy Diaries: The Battle of the Sexes, Simplified

L   I would like to clarify something before I begin. This is a simple diary entry. I will simplify very complex matters. You might find yourself getting offended. If that happens, please feel free to take a moment to come to the realization that you have serious deep-rooted issues that need solving. Once you […]

Mommy Diaries: Nobody Is Happy Unless They Choose to Be

Mommy Diaries: Nobody Is Happy Unless They Choose to Be

There is no worse feeling for a mom than feeling alone. It sucks. And even if we are surrounded by littles, the feeling creeps on you and takes over. I’m all by myself. I am solely responsible for these monsters. Now please don’t get me wrong, I am very lucky to have Superdad, but it […]

Mommy Diaries: An Open Letter to Mothers Who Act Like Horribly Judgmental Mean Girls Online

Mommy Diaries: An Open Letter to Mothers Who Act Like Horribly Judgmental Mean Girls Online

I’m going to have to warn you, this is an over the top rant. I am angry and I am using this diary as a tool to voice my frustration and anger. I am going to sound irrational and crazy. And that’s okay with me. What is wrong with you people? You women… you […]

Mommy Diaries: Gymanstics Can Suck It

Mommy Diaries: Gymanstics Can Suck It

My eldest daughter L Boogie has been driving me crazy. No. Not like how regular five year olds drive you crazy. But more along the lines of how psychopathic maniacs stalk you and make you lose whatever marbles you have left crazy. Her younger sister and I are usually stunned into silence or hysterical screaming […]
