Ghufran

Ghufran Katatney is always at the wrong place at the wrong time. But she’s gotten used to it and has decided to make the best of every wrong place and every wrong time. Photography, art and design are the passion. With an eye for detail and a unique way of looking at things Ghufran merges herself into environments that trigger a different perspective and view on life. She believes that everyone you ever meet knows something that you don’t and that experiences are the best teachers. She also wants to see The Weekend in concert. And likes penguins, a lot.

Stop Making Fun of the ‘Lower-Class’ Egyptians Enjoying Their Summer Vacation

Stop Making Fun of the ‘Lower-Class’ Egyptians Enjoying Their Summer Vacation

“YOU CAN’T SWIM WITH US!”

Social media can be a ‘Regina George’ clone. It can play games with your head. It can call you names, both directly & indirectly. It can create sarcastic memes. It can hurt. Every now and then in the non-judgemental, educated and ‘open-minded’ Egyptian society, a group of people become Regina George’s new victim. Their recent […]

A Guide to Killing Time When You’re Unemployed

A Guide to Killing Time When You’re Unemployed

The scariest thing about unemployment is all that free time! You suddenly have 24 hours of free time instead of just like 5 and you’re left not knowing how to fill it up or what to do! Being just recently unemployed myself, here are a few things I’ve discovered one should do to kill up […]

8 Things We Won’t Miss from Sahel Season

8 Things We Won’t Miss from Sahel Season

There is no denying that Sahel season is one of – if not the best seasons of the year. No cares in the world, beach, sea, friends, great weather and, not to mention, a pretty happening night life, as of late. But a little voice in our head is kind of glad this summer season on the […]

The Art of Disappearing

The Art of Disappearing

It’s kind of weird to think that after all these years of thinking of a “time-out” as a punishment, the only thing I’m in need of in present life is just that. But question is, how does one reach “that”? How can you shut yourself out of your daily surroundings, the company around you, the […]

Viral Visual: CrossFit Fail

Viral Visual: CrossFit Fail

CrossFit this. CrossFit that. How about cross that off any list I ever did or am intending of doing in the future. Or how about big red cross over any future exercise plans? I joke. But seriously, if I needed one more excuse over my million excuses to not work out (ever again) it would […]

Food Review: Gaby’s at Citystars

I hate Citystars. Truly, I do. But when shopping calls, you have to admit – a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. After a good afternoon shopping session, the hunger craves started to kick in and after a “what do you feel like eating?” mind-numbing discussion, my friend and I decided to head […]

In Citystars, a location where restaurant competition is growing more fierce by the hour, Chef’s Market made its official debut in the Mosaique Dining Zone with a bang. We were lucky enough to have a first tasting of the new home-grown brand. Chef’s Market is inspired by the traditional farmer’s market – a truly innovative […]

Food Review: El Dokkan

Taste the "Baladi-Chic"

El Dokan (“the little shop”, roughly) is Cairo’s latest contemporary oriental cuisine spot located in Emerald Empire with a sister branch in Cairo Festival City. We set out to experience El Dokan’s “baladi-chic” concept and absolutely fell in love. Hummus El Sham: With a perfect herb-infused taste and a zesty chilli aftertaste, this was a […]
