ALEXBANK’s ‘Ebda3 Men Masr’ Tent Reigns Supreme at the International Handicrafts Show

For the second consecutive year, ALEXBANK’s vibrant and colorful Ebda3 Men Masr tent reigned supreme at the International Handicrafts Show (IHS). The event demanded to not just be attended, but experienced — and we honestly cannot wait for next year’s exhibition already.

Before we delve into the intricate details of the event, let us enlighten you about ALEXBANK’s most promising initiative. In an ambitious plan to adopt the concept of “Creating Shared Value”, ALEXBANK became a full-fledged partner of citizens and communities with one of the main platforms being Ebda3 Men Masr.

The initiative consists of collaborations and partnerships that aim at empowering traditional communities, as well as increasing entrepreneurial opportunities, with the ultimate goal of promoting the preservation of Egyptian crafts’ heritage and original artwork.

With Ebda3 Men Masr partnered with more than 30 partners across Egypt and by different ethnicities. 4,000 Egyptian artisans have already benefited, in crafting and marketing, from the initiative. Ebda3 Men Masr has also partnered with the Egyptian Network for Integrated Development (ENID), Fair Trade Egypt, Yadaweya and Tunis Village in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidary and the National Council for Women.

From the moment we set foot inside the exhibition, we were immersed in a secluded environment that boasted art, colors and good vibes. The fact that all products were handmade by the finest artisans and craftsmen in Egypt is a pure demonstration of authentic high-quality works of art. The handcrafts left us mesmerized and eager to rediscover the beauty of Egypt.

Among the special IHS guests were Dr. Ghada Waly, Minister of Social Solidarity; Tarek Kabil, Minister of Trade & Industry; and Professor Heba Handousa, Managing Director of Egypt Network for Integrated Development; Dante Campioni, Managing Director & CEO of ALEXBANK.

The IHS is taking place at the Cairo International Convention Exhibition Center, from the 15th until the 24th of November — this basically means that you’ll have time to pop up with your family and friends, or even by yourself, to experience the event.

Apart from promoting and supporting the projects that are nurtured in Ebda3 Men Masr, the tent also organized several entertainment chapters such as a DIY crafts booth and a live crafts performance booth. Throughout the artsy escapade, you’ll constantly have Mohamed Adaweya and Zap Tharwat’s song stuck in your head. Yes, that very song they composed for Ebda3 Men Masr. Needless to say, the masterpiece will give you goosebumps and help you appreciate the Egyptian cultural heritage, something we tend to sadly forget.

“Ebda3 Men Masr has successfully emerged as a standalone CSV initiative, being represented also at international events as recently happened at the AFI Global Policy Forum held in Sharm El Sheikh, as an effective practice of financial inclusion. Ebda3 Men Masr aims at promoting the entrepreneurship culture especially in the remote rural areas of Egypt, offering Egyptian talents professional support to enhance their chances of affirmation as integrated part within an inclusive economy.” said Dante Campioni, Managing Director and CEO of ALEXBANK

It should be noted that ALEXBANK has also engaged with leading participants and exhibitors to enable them to accept card payments, This will happen via their dedicated PoS solution, where the bank will waive all commissions for any transaction during IHS, and will provide favorable rates for their business post the exhibition.

WE SAID THIS: ALEXBANK are such true leaders and role models in the Corporate Social Responsibility, and we wish for other corporates to follow their lead.
