If there is one thing more annoying than a mosquito buzz at night, it is sand stuck in your gadgets for years. The beach has made it clear that it is not technology friendly. Gadgets always get wet, sandy and sticky and you always spend your quality time cleaning, dusting and panicking.
Here are 10 hacks that will save your soul mate aka phone during summer:
Waterproof plastic pouches
These pouches can be lifesavers if you ever get pushed into a pool, however, they can get a bit pricey. Invest in one and enjoy taking selfies underwater.
Phone condoms
Yes, there is a thing out there called phone condoms, another pricey yet efficient way of protecting your phone from the sand. Stay safe everyone and wrap up your favorite gadget.
Ziplock bags
If you are a minimalist like myself, go basic and buy a ziplock bag. It doesn’t get any cheaper than that. If people make fun of you on the beach, trust me you will have the last laugh when sand plugs their earphone jacks.

Not every phone protection has to be ugly, you can accessorize your phone with this cute little scary as hell villain and protect it at the same time from sand and dust.
Compressed air can

If you can’t blow the sand, try sucking it. The myth says you can use the smallest nozzle of your vacuum cleaner and suck the sand and dust. I am a bit skeptical, as the smallest nozzle I’ve seen doesn’t look like a practical or logical option. However, it is a highly recommended technique so you might give it a try in case of a sandstorm phone disaster.

Leaving your phone in the sun or the car can be quite damaging if the phone gets too hot turn it off as soon as possible and leave it in front of a fan or the air condition.

The most popular method we all hear of is leaving your phone in rice overnight, yet Gazelle experimented with multiple methods of drying phones to determine their efficiency and recommended shaking, blowing and vacuuming. Rice and silica gel only absorbed the last few drops of moisture and only if used in large quantities. The first thing you need to do though is open your phone, take the battery and SIM card out and leave in front of a fan.
