7 Useful Travel Apps That Could Save Your Trip

travelapps

Here is a selection of useful apps that can come in handy when going for a trip. I’ve put them in order starting with bookings, trip planning all the way to the actual trip. So here we go:

HotelTonight

hoteltonight

From a range of hotel booking apps, this one stands out as it makes last-minute hotel bookings from any place in the world pretty easy.

So if you ever get into the situation where you can’t find a place to stay for the night (yes, it happens) the HotelTonight app will get you last-minute deals that you will be able to book through your phone on the same night. Yes, just book and go!

Trover

troverSo you are all set on your destination but still need to research the places to visit. Trover is a creative app that lets travelers share their destination photos with a small description AND it tells you where exactly it is on the map!

So just plug in your destination in the search button, choose the photos you like, make a list and you are all set with the places you want to go to with their exact location. And when you get there, post your own photos and inspire other travelers… Amazing isn’t it?

packpointPackpoint

So it’s packing time! This app takes packing lists a step further by suggesting the things you should pack. Jot down your destination, trip date, length of stay and type of activities you are expected to do and you will get a tailor-made list. All you need to do is pack and tick the items off.

Gate Guru

gateguruThe next time you get to an airport you’ve never been to before, you won’t need the “I’m lost” wide-eyed look on your face. The Gata Guru app takes care of all the things you need to know.

It provides a complete list of amenities (places to eat, shops and services), which you can filter by terminal and sort by rating, name or gate, as well as a comprehensive map guide. It also lets you add your upcoming flight itineraries and notifies you of any changes or delays and keeps a log of your flights for future reference.

Daily Spender

dailyspenderA simple and easy way to track your expenses during your trip. Start off with your budget, which will be divided equally across the number of days of your trip. Each day, you list down your expenses and it will tell you how much is left as you go.

It will alert you when you are overspending and reallocate your budget from your remaining days (and it also tells you if you have made any savings, something unlikely!). And finally, it gives you the option to send a report of your trip spending to your e-mail for reference.

Foodspotting

foodspottingSo you are walking around and exploring your destination and suddenly you crave a favourite dish.

Dig out the Foodspotting app and it will tell you where to find the best places serving it. All you need to do is indicate where you are and which dish you are looking for. Bon appetite!

Journi

journiWhat’s a trip without memories? The Journi app helps you keep track of your trips and share it with friends. Take pictures, write notes and record locations every day of your trip.

Keep it as your private travel log or turn it into a travel blog and share it with people you know.
