5 Women Every Arab Woman Cannot Live Without

Here’s to all of the phenomenal women in our lives without whom we’d definitely fall apart. They’ve seen us through our best and our worst, they’ve been our support, our role models and our pride, and we don’t know what we would do without them!

Your Mama

Yes, she is the main lady in your world. You fight, you scream and cry at times, even making statement about how she has “ruined your life”, but you know that’s not true. It is one of the most draining relationships, but for those that have it good, you know you wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Your Sister

No, this is not exactly like your mother. She is closer to your age bracket and she “gets it” just a tad more. Usually covering up for one another, she is your backbone. If you are the younger sister, always know that you have stolen her thunder, but she will forever be there when you need her. She doesn’t agree with all your decisions and you may be from different sides of the spectrum, but as I said she is there.

Siblings are a blessing and for those with the one-child syndrome, there is always a cousin that fills that void. And trust me, it is EXACTLY the same!

The Nail Woman

We all have them and she holds the same place as one of the above, although she has been in your life for much less time. You follow her religiously, whatever new salon she has decided to venture to, you are right there behind her.

People will never understand why you will drive an hour to go see her and complain about family outings with relatives you haven’t seen in years, but hey it is what it is. She is your girl and thanks to her, you live a happier life.

Your Childhood Bestie

This person is irreplaceable. She knows all your secrets and crazy stories simply because she has been part of most. She has seen all the embarrassing family traditions that are specific to your house that you hide from the world.

She is pro, she gets you, you are idiots together and she is there for you when you need it the most and no one else would understand. She laughs at the same jokes that no one else thinks are funny and that is the best part. A bond like no other, this is GOLD!

The Nanny (AKA Your Other Mama)

She raised you and she may still even live with you until now. Let’s face it, your mama was busy and due to our culture this is the natural way things pan out. It is not irregular to leave your kids with the nanny until they start speaking Pilipino, then you know you definitely need to be more hands on.

This woman holds a special place in your heart, and even when she is gone you will never forget the memories that you shared.
